Active learning and activity based approaches help in developing life skills and making learning joyful. This manual for educators documents the interactive process for learning about health and nutrition; it also builds upon children's knowledge and encourages hands-on practices. Developed based on an in-depth review of school curriculum in Gujarat and Rajasthan primary and secondary schools, the manual includes lesson plans followed by fun activities on identified topics that help in learning about health, nutrition and child development.

Health, Education and Development of School Age Children: CHETNA's Perspective

School age is the crucial period of life when values, attitudes and behaviour are formed which have far reaching impact on life. By acquiring health and hygiene related knowledge, values, skills and practices, children can be empowered to live a healthy life and also to work as change agents for the health of their families and communities. Bal Swasthya Salah Pustika - Child Health Counselling book

This book is specially designed for child care and health workers. It covers health and nutrition, immunisation, health check-up, referral services, particularly focusing on pregnancy and child care from conception (care during pregnancy and lactation period) up to 3 years. Provides tips on how to guide parents on age wise growth and developmental milestones health care requirements. Colourful, attractive and illustrative cards provide information on points to be kept in mind while counselling the parents. The counselling book would be useful to health and community workers involved in the area of Maternal and Child Health.

Manual on Complementary Feeding

This manual contains information on complementary feeding to enable optimal physical and mental growth of the child. Breast feeding is the best method for providing nutrition and care. Need for immunisation etc. is also covered in this manual. Local and traditional recipes for supplementary nutrition for the child are also provided. This booklet will be useful to parents, child care workers and Anganwadi (crèche/child care centre) workers.

A set of eight booklets for providing a comprehensive concept of Child Rights. The significant role which stakeholders like parents, government, academic institutions, media, judiciary and law enforcing agencies, paramedical professionals and the corporate sector can play in ensuring “Every Right for Every Child” is also highlighted. My Rights, My Responsibilities- Learning to Teach Child Rights

This Trainers' manual aims to sensitize and enable teachers, trainers and NGO functionaries. It provides basic information about child rights with participatory activities to make learning interesting. The manual comprises of seven training modules - Understanding the Child, Why Child Rights - including Indian and UN Perspective of Child Rights, Child's Right to Survival, Development, Protection and Participation, Child Rights - Programming and Advocacy. These modules can be effectively integrated in pre-service or in-service teacher training programmes and also be used for capacity building programmes. The training manual comes with a companion reader, as a Resource Book to provide material that can be used by the trainer/facilitator during the training, consisting of definitions, statistics, case studies, activities and more.

A World Without Tears

A Reader for children providing awareness on child rights, is an attractively developed story book to enable children to understand what rights are and the rights of children, while encouraging them to spread awareness about children's rights as well as initiate action in their communities. It gives them a vision of a world without tears, a world where all children are cared for and protected, have equal opportunity to grow and develop and participate actively to create a just, fair and harmonious society. Girl Child first A Poster Exhibition

Comprising of 16 posters on the rights of the girl child, focusing on the alarming discrimination and neglect faced by girls to sensitise a cross section of stakeholders - parents, adults, community leaders, doctors, lawyers and other professionals, NGO/CBO functionaries and policy and decision makers about the need to protect the rights of girl children.
